Nowadays folk wisdom is confirmed by a number of scientific studies relative to the beneficial properties of apples. According to a research by the University of Florida, a decrease of the total cholesterol levels by 14% was achieved for the 160 women who participated in the programm  and followed a diet including daily dried apple consumption for one year. So far I was not successful in spotting apple essential oil in the market. Nevertheless you can use warm baked apple poultice to soothe skin irritations and apple vinegar mixed with warm water to rinse your hair. The result will be silky soft and shiny hair.
You can also make your own apple essential oil following this techinque: fill a glass, dark colored jar with almond or calendula oil. Add the whole skin of an apple, close the jar and leave it in a sunny spot for one week, shaking the jar every 2 days. After one week strain the oil, add new apple skin and repeat the whole process. You may continue adding apple skins and leaving the mixture to mature according to the desired scent intensity. The produced oil has 6 to 12 months shelf life and should be stored in a dry and cool place.
